ICAROS is an energetic symphonic powermetal band from the Netherlands. The band is unique because normally this scene is dominated by men, but ICAROS is enlightened with the presence of female singer Linda Aarts.
The band has developed its own sound, in which bombastic, symphonic sounds are alternated with flashing solos, synthesizers and catchy rock-riffs, with a progressive edge from time to time. The music, written by keyboard player Ron Marinussen and guitar player Peter Hagting is, amongst others bands, inspired by Kamelot, After Forever and Symphony X. The band is complete with their hyperactive drummer Joris Ligthart and their newest acquisition, bass player Erik Harbers.
ICAROS presented the promo CD Awaiting Seasons in December, 2007. The promo contains three songs: Revolution, Elevator, and title track Awaiting Seasons.
