Icarus Rising, based out of Washington, D.C., sounds like reggae strawberries dipped in pop-rock chocolate, with a few mysterious spices added for variety. Imagine the sounds of Sublime, Barenaked Ladies and The K.G.B., infused with double blasts of youthful energy and innovative melody.
The band, originally conceived as Noah Silver's solo project in 2007, completed the album "Amorphous" within its first year. Siegel then added the songwriting talents of lead guitarist Dave Chaletzky and the heart-stopping rhythm section of Adam Knobloch (drums) and Mike Shumann (bass), adding texture and depth to a sound -- and a passion -- sure to please the ears and soul.
