After adopting a DJ name from his shared likeness to a lovable Goonies character, Dayta (nė Trent Icaza) always brings his DJ gadgets and inventive mixes to rock the party. His broad ranging playlist--from hip hop, to house, electro, dancehall, to any other genre that suits his whim--reflects his eclectic, but well-tuned, taste in dance music. Dayta attributes his varying style to the time he spent soaking up a music at raves and hip hop events before stepping up to the decks nearly a decade ago.
No stranger to Houston, Dayta and co-host Squincy Jones maintain Thursday's Speakerboxx (a spin-off of now legendary Rockbox with Witnes). This in-demand DJ also holds it down the last Saturday of each month at Boondocks with Dallas DJ mates, The Party. And each night he's ready to set his booty traps! Yes! That's what he said, "Booby traps!"
