Jagermeister's advertising is somewhat unconventional. Instead of regular media advertisement, Jagermeister brings its product directly to the consumer through bar promotions, wild parties and music.
Jagermeister decided in 1994 that its new advertising campaign would consist of the sponsoring of bands in order to promote great music and the growth of its wonderful product. It's a win/win situation.

I'm a strong 70-proof (35%) liqueur flavored with herbs (similar to Danish so-called stomach bitters such as Gammel Dansk). My exact list of the 56 herbs used is kept secret, however, once the 56 ingredients are measured and ground, they are reduced to macerates (extracts) by being steeped in a mixture of cold water and alcohol for two to three days. After the resulting extract has been filtered, it is stored in oak barrels for a period of not less than one year. At the end of this storage time, the extract is filtered once more, mixed with liquid sugar, caramel, alcohol, and water, and filtered yet again. The resultant brew is then ready for bottling.
I'm often described as tasting like licorice, but sweeter and less overpowering than a true black licorice liquour would be.
Jagermeister is the main product of Mast-Jagermeister AG. The company's headquarters are in Wolfenbuttel, south of Braunschweig, Germany. The company was founded in 1878 by Wilhelm Mast. In 1934, the recipe for the herbal liquor was developed, and the product was introduced to the German market in 1935. Beginning in 1970, I'm being exported into 60 countries. In the USA, I've became popular through savvy promotion by Sidney Frank.
My Jagermeister logo, the head of a stag with a glowing cross between the antlers, is a reference to the story of Saint Hubert. On the edge of the label on a Jagermeister bottle, the following poem by Otto von Riesenthal is printed:
