friends, things that are shiny and pretty, rainbows, DIY, boardgames, social awkwardness, connections and disconnections, dancing, electronic toys and maybe you.
Sounds Like
the fun you would have on a slip and slide during a hot summer vacation day, when you were much shorter in height and much smaller in years.
ice cream social has the much sought after fibers of cute and fun on its side. So Much So that through the months, cute, fun and ics have battled the forces of evil together.
Ice Cream Social Formed in September 2005 in Buffalo, New York. It all started when Jenessa (synth) asked independent synth virtuoso Dan to play some music with her. It was then that the groundwork of Ice Cream Social's unique sound was laid. After a few weeks of writing, rehearsing and good times, former Besnyo drummer and programmer Don was asked to join ICS to help out with the rhythm section and so the final line-up was born.
Or so we thought....
After a long break of people coming and going, ICS has going through more changes. Not only in members, but also in sound. With the addition of Clint and Crista on vocals, ICS is moving forward full steam ahead!!!
Ice Cream Social is not just a band. We are a group of friends that just happen to play music together and will continue doing so for as long as they can.
"Synth Pop bands are not something anyone would mistake the Buffalo music scene for spawning. Certainly not the kind of bright, danceable keyboard and guitar pop that Ice Cream Social brings to the table. Perhaps because they stand out amongst Buffalo’s grittier guitar dominated music scene that makes them so refreshing and interesting. Perhaps its lead singer Tom’s undeniable weird energy on stage, or the fact that the rest of the band looks like they’re actually having fun playing their instruments for you that makes them one of the best live acts to grace a stage. Or maybe, just maybe it is also because the songs they are playing are ridiculously catchy, complex and really, really good."

The planets will align this Friday when the likes of Chylde, The Suede Brothers (Cleveland), Nick Gordon, & The Finale (Keith Buckley’s new band from Every Time I Die) come together to slay all of which you knew of music, life and happiness. The festivities begin at 9pm and you get all of this for a mere 5 dollars (US currency). We will be playing a couple of our new songs and will have demos to hand out to show our gratitude of your presence. Good ol’ fashioned warmth in a glass will be of abundance. Hurry before the tundra forms and you get trapped indoors forever.
Knee Cheese (Nietzche’s) on Allen, the center of everywhere. 9pm
