As part of Carl Franzen's Annual Birthday Week, IRB will give you 4 hours of music by brutal songwriters from the Twin Cities. You'll be body-slammed-crushed if you miss it (all our top friends will be performing). But there's another reason to be there.
It's a benefit for Twin Cities Radio, a great resource for indie artists who fend for themselves to get their music out.
For the past 3 years TCR has broadcast all styles of independent music 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to listeners around the world.
Now TCR has successfully opened another window—live broadcasts of original music. Already 150+ shows have been produced from venues like the Kitty Cat Klub, Bootleggers, Corner Coffee, 508 Bar, Bunkers, Stella's Fish Cafe in Uptown, 400 Bar and Vera's Cafe.
This huge effort is performed by a volunteer staff of creative talents using effective, but cumbersome hand-me-down equipment. With new mobile equipment more venues would be accessible. Instantly it would create more exposure to local artists.

I just wanted to stop by to say hello and give you a little update on what Blood Root Mother is up to! We will be recording an EP of new music in August, and we recently finished recording a live DVD. The DVD is currently unreleased and I actually just saw it for the first time a few days ago. It features the last two performances with Tony Ellis still alive, and some footage from the tribute show we played on the night of his funeral.
There are some cool covers, as well as some NEW music that will be on our upcoming EP. We're very excited about the new music and we'd like to share a sneak peak with you. Here's a link to the video for a new tune called Run Bobby Run:
