Ichorous is a harsh noise project from Lowell, Massachusetts. The project got its start in 2004 and began as digital noise created on a computer interface. In early 2005, a CDr demo was given to Ron Lessard, head of RRRecords in hopes of achieving a release on the legendary label. The project soon became fully independent of digital sound and only uses software to master and edit recorded sound.
Lifender (on the aforementioned RRRecords label) was the first release by the project, and was composed digitally. The sound has since evolved into dynamic and brutal analog noise combining straight walls with cut-ups, vocals, and thematic influence from forensic pathology, torture, murder, horror, and the occult.
Mission Statement (revised 7/3/07): As Ichorous, I record, release, and perform my vision of ideal harsh noise. At the moment, I record and release only with labels whose vision, dedication, and aesthetic match and agree with my own. Artist Description: Born in the grave, a zombie of flesh and blood, longing for his own physical death in the world of living slaves...Combining the best aspects of old-style Japanese and new-style American harsh noise, this conceptual release illustrates its theme through torturous walls of bass-driven sound, quick cut-ups, screams, and effected vocal samples. Face the ultimate end.
Artist Description: 3 new tracks (recorded and mastered November of last year) of focused, calculated, and destructive harsh noise. This time the concept centers around instances of traumatic and intense situational irony (or "circumstances" as the title calls them), the kind that ruins lives and ends love, leaving those involved ruined and broken.
Track 1 is a new track from February 2007. Track 2 was decomposed from scrapped source and is based on the track of the same name from the first demo. Track 3 was cannibalized from 2 different scrap tracks from '05-'06.
An exercise in calculated yet partially-improvised brutality, Blastorture is an exploration of true harsh noise ranging from multiple styles and distilled into a blurry attack of sound. For fans of unstoppable, psychotic harsh noise like Macronympha or Knurl combined with the Japanese style of Pain Jerk, Endo/Killer Bug, and Relapse-era Merzbow.

ICHOROUS - DRIFT OF SANITY C-40 (NIL BY MOUTH)
Conceptual and dynamic analog harsh noise. Loops, cut-ups, and walls of pounding feedback/metal/vocals all collide on this excursion into the realms of serious mental illness and its grisly aftermath. Crashes of metal and screeching microphone feedback crush the listener while screaming vocals pan in and out adding to the atmosphere of the recording, with lyrics only seldom explored (accompanying narrations set the mood parallel to the audio tracks themselves) throughout the trip.
Prepare your psyche.
This release comes in a white box with cover on the top, 2 coloured inserts, 1 A4 poster xeroxed quality in red paper, black cassette with chrome tape. Limited edition of 100 copies.
