It all started with a legendary night called Jungle Galaxy @ Doornroosje in Nijmegen. The Dutch Queen of drum and bass called 'Esta' opened the eyes of a great deal of people with mind-blowing line-ups featuring everybody who ever meant anything in the dnb scene. It was Esta that first showed the way for both Icicle & Switch and her style still deeply influences their mixing.
Icicle & Switch had been producing and djing for several years on their own and with some friends when the Sheriff 'Rosco' brought them together around 2003. A lot of collaborations and back 2 back sets at different parties followed.
In the summer of 2003 Switch Falcon Chase Rosco and Metz gave birth 2 a Nijmegen based monthly night called 'Somethin Else' @ Merleyn. When Rosco stepped out of the crew after about a year of wicked sets Icicle was asked 2 join in his stead. Something Else is about drum and bass with a touch of soul and funk, rolling and deep, and aims at getting people on the floor without anthem bashing DJ's. Unfortunately the night came to a temporary stop January '06 when it was decided Something Else needed a new Venue. Even though turn ups where very good and dj's were eager to get booked.
Currently Icicle's and/or Switch' productions are gettin played by people like: Fabio, London Electricity, Marcus Intalex, Ltj Bukem, Flight, Commix, Breakage, Beta 2 & Zero Tolerance, Alix Perez, Equinox, Mosus, Martyn, Phobia, Deep Inc., Jubei, Sabre, The Insiders, Impact, Big Bud, Brooklyn, Redeyes
Watch out for forthcomin releases on labels like: Critical, Med School, Revolution, Fokuz and Lucky Devil to name a few.
