the last AFI show i saw @ the wow hall,probly 7 or 8 years back, davey was like "What ever happened to icky's?" and i yelled back "it's a church!" and he looked all dejected, like he was searching for the inspiration to continue. later he ripped his shirt off and climbed the speakers and shit. i think that made him feel better.
ah..the ping pong table...i was standin next to it when the pigs raided the hippies in the back of the building..they came screeching up with their doors open and ran straight toward me then right past me..i think i pooped a little.
i had not been to Eugene in a long time until i went to visit Amberlee and Bert,cassidy N Jerry. i was up late, and extremly bored,so i played hide the dook somewhere around the red barn. ha ha it was fun!
I've probably got at least 100 posters from Icky's shows, and a lot of political shit too. Sometime in the near future I'll devote a day to scanning stuff so it can go up on here. I'm glad this is happening.
somewhere between woodstock and the manson family - that sounds like hippy shit to me - ickys was is and always shall be - a home i can never return to, alas as stoked as i am to see this tribute - because I do think it needs to be documented but yeah myspace is as corporate as it gets but it's free and get's the job done. god i miss me some good coffee- there is no place that is like icky's - it was the place to go when you had nowhere to go and I miss it constantly!
This was the night Ickys closed....and we strung barbwire around the joint and partied down....thats me, Kendra, me and Jerry on top the bus:) R.I.P. ICKYS!!!!!
