Sam and Robert write, play, arrange, sing, record, and otherwise make songs as I Come to Shanghai. We're into lyrics, harmony, hooks, colorful tones, fuzzy textures, strong rhythms, big instrumental set pieces, wide open space, twists and turns, and the humor/bummer of the human condition. We're coming dangerously close to finishing an album that will include only the best songs from the mass of material we've worked up over the past 3 years, at which point we will transform, Voltron-style, into a larger, meaner, poorer, proper band. It's all about having goals.

Monday the 12th of May, we'll play a show in San Francisco. Our first show ever in S.F. actually...
We'll be playing at Bottom of the Hill @ 10pm and our good friends from Denmark, Efterklang will play after us.
