關於我: Currently, I serve as the parish cantor at Saint Nicholas Orthodox Church in Lansford, PA and am its church school coordinator. Our congregation sings all of the services; the choir sings twice a year.
One of things that I enjoy the most is our Carpatho-Rusyn plainchant which I learned growning up in grade school. My uncle Paul Bereznak was the Cathedral cantor in Passaic, NJ who taught me to chant the Creed and Epistle and various services in the church. This foundation gave me the essential tools to serve later in various churches as cantor. Later I was given the opportunity to train a new cantor for Saint Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church of Wilkes-Barre, PA where I served for four years. Being a life-long learner, I am continuing to learn aspects of our unique tradition and general musical theory.
I was brought up as a Catholic Christian who at the age of 17 journeyed into the Eastern Orthodox faith. So, I cannot in good conscience be involved in "religious debate" or be critical of the faith of my childhood because it gave me a good foundation for whom I am today. You will notice many icons that I have painted of Catholic saints on my website.
I am married to a wonderful woman, Gail whom I love very much, and whose accomplishments make me proud. She is also involved in church work through the Orthodox Christian Mission Center; we have two fantastic grown children, David (26) and Lisa (21).
My primary work is involved in church. So whether I write, sing, direct choir, paint icons, go out on speaking engagements or serve in other forms of ministry, I do not feel the need to apologize to anyone for this. I have seen too many people's dreams shot down by those who want to be right about everything. "With God all things are possible" (Matthew 19:26).
I am a member of "Christian Communities Gathering (CCG) of Northeastern Pennsylvania" which is a ecumenical group of clergy and others who have an interest in dialogue among Christians.
During the early 90's, I was a radio talk show host on several Northeastern Pennsylvania radio stations: 84O WVPO and 107.9 WPMR, and filled in at AM 790 WAEB in Allentown and WAZL in Hazleton. My philosophy is not left or right, conservative or liberal. As a libertarian, I place a high value on Liberty and personal responsibility. My monthly column "The Liberty Corner" was a regular feature in the "Community Express" newspaper in Stroudsburg, PA. Currently, I am a Program Assistant for Dr. Katherine Albrecht, whose radio show can be heard on www.gcnlive.com.
I have some great friends linked here and am interested in being on your "Friends" list. I will not link to you if you promote anything pornographic, sexual, satanic, harmful to minors, violent, fictious or hateful. At this point in my life, I would like to stay focused on enjoying life one day at a time, conquering my own demons not yours, learning to spend time with my family, rediscover simplicity, graciousness and gratitude.
Watch this 60 Minutes interview with actress Hilary Swank. She has a wonderful story to share with you and me about her life which is full of love, commitment, determination and gratitude.
This is an awesome meditation on gratefulness. Take a look!

"Psalms 118:4 Let them now that fear the LORD say, that his mercy endureth for ever. 5 I called upon the LORD in distress: the LORD answered me, and set me in a large place. 6 The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me? Proverbs 11:8 The righteous is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked cometh in his stead. Romans 8:31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?"
To stand strong in this spiritual battle is our part. It is God's power that provides the victory when we stand strong. Our God fights for us.
"Cowardice asks the question, ' Is it safe?' Expediency asks the question, 'Is it politic?' Vanity asks the question, 'Is it popular?' But, conscience asks the question, 'Is it right?' And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular but one must take it because one's conscience tells one that it is right."
An angel here, an angel there, I’m surrounded by angels everywhere. When I’m in the middle of a terrible storm They come with their candles to keep me warm. An angel to comfort, an angel to guide, An angel to fill that dark hole inside. An angel to cry on, an angel who cares, I’m surrounded by angels, everywhere. The angels who reach out when times are rough Who’ll listen to my heartache and all kinds of stuff Bright in the sunshine and in dark of night The angels surround me with comforting light. I guess God is busy and can’t come on down To give me a smile and take care of my frown So he sent a few angels to brighten my day And help to carry my burdens away. So thank you, dear angels, more than you’ll know For watering the happiness and making it grow!!
