But don't worry, they'll catch up to you. My home state went blue for the first time since 1964 this year, and that was only after scoring wins in three straight state-wide races (Governor twice and Senate in '06) to build up a base.
And yes, I have no life other than memorizing pointless statistics about US electoral trends. =(
