Italian Championship Wrestling is Italy's own wrestling promotion, promoting over 25 events per year on the whole Italian territory. Based out of Pavia, in the north of Italy, ICW has already been in 15 out of the 20 regions of Italy, with 160+ shows in its relatively young 8-year+ history. Established in January 2001, and starting from scratch in a country with no previous history of resident wrestling, ICW has slowly cut out its niche in the landscape of European wrestling. The ICW has its own roster of Italian athletes, all of whom have graduated from ICW's training system, the ICW Academy. Dislocated into 11 gyms scattered throughout Italy (Pavia, Bergamo, Brescia, Castellanza, Firenze, Genova, Lecco, Rimini, Torino, Verona e Vicenza), the ICW Academy frequently invites top-notch guest trainers to pass on their knowledge of the squared circle to the young Italian wrestlers. Past guest trainers have included Chris Hero, Nigel McGuinness, Mike Quackenbush, Joe E Legend, Chad Collyer, James Tighe, and Switzerland's own Ares (Claudio Castagnoli's tag team partner in Europe). ICW also frequently invites wrestlers from other countries to its shows. The history of names who have graced ICW's ring is a who's who of the top European wrestlers and the top American wrestlers who have visited Europe in the last few years. The ICW's biggest events of the year are "Cold War", in January; "Vendetta" and "WrestleRama" in May; "Il Numero Uno" Tournament in June; "La Legge del Più Forte", in July; "Pandemonium", in October; and "Vae Victis", in December. ICW is looking to increase yet again the number of shows promoted in Italy in the next few months. Italian Championship Wrestling è la Federazione Italiana di Wrestling, nata nel 2001 con lo scopo di promuovere e diffondere anche in Italia lo sport-spettacolo che riscuote così grande successo in America, Europa e Giappone. Gli atleti della Italian Championship Wrestling sono lottatori che possiedono il bagaglio tecnico e atletico comune a tutti i lottatori professionisti, e sono continuamente aggiornati tramite stages e corsi effettuati in tutto il mondo, in federazioni come FWA, ALL STAR WRESTLING, FUNKIN' CONSERVATORY e MICHINOKU PRO WRESTLING. Molti di essi si sono formati presso alcuni tra i più famosi wrestler del mondo, come Christopher Daniels, Super Crazy, Joe E. Legend, Claudio Castagnoli, Chris Hero, Mike Quackenbush, Nick Mondo, Nigel McGuinness, Shinzaki Jinsei e The Great Sasuke, vere leggende del wrestling mondiale, e sono in previsione altre collaborazioni eccellenti a breve e lungo termine. La I.C.W. è a tutt'oggi la 3a federazione europea per numero di spettacoli organizzati annualmente. La I.C.W. organizza eventi di wrestling sull’intero territorio nazionale, avendo toccato già ben 15 regioni italiane (Abruzzo, Aosta, Calabria, Emilia-Romagna, Lazio, Liguria, Lombardia, Marche, Piemonte, Puglia, Sardegna, Toscana, Umbria, Veneto, Campania). In Italia come in Europa, I.C.W. vuol dire Wrestling al suo meglio.
