It had to come to this point sooner or later. We are calling it quits.
We had great and unforgetable moments and many, many great shows in the last 9 years. But due to personal priorites and responsibilites we feel that it is unable for us and unfair and unprofessional to the rest of the world to maintain a band status while not actively pushing this band as is necessary.
We would like to thank all the people who in one way or another took interest in our music and helped us along the way, supported us while playing and putting out our records. Many thanks to Reflections Records without whom we would have never started this band, Muttis Booking for booking and also Andy at Thorp Records. Last but not least - the kids!!!
As we are all involved in other projects ( THEY WANT A FLUGHAFEN, GUTS N' GLORY) we will be around in one way or another. Stay in touch and watch out for new band-projects!
We will play a farewell show in Hannover @ Mephisto on the 30th April with SOCIETYS PARASITES and SHORT FUSE. Make sure to make this an unforgetable event!

I Defy was originally formed in late 1999 when Raoul (singer of Veil) and Frank (Former Miozän Bassplayer, now Souls On Fire) hung out one afternoon at a hardcore show and talked about the idea of forming a hardcore project. After exchanging phone numbers, a few weeks of on and off in discussing potential allies, two good friends and talented musicians, Flo (Drummer of Veil) and Mathias (Guitarist in United Mutations) joined the team and the project was formed. Since all members were still engaged in their main bands and busy touring, recording etcetera I Defy was primarily seen as a side project. However, this would change soon, when the first songs were written and two local shows were played as opening band for Kill Your Idols, Shutdown, American Nightmare and Ensign. The response was so amazing (not just from the crowd but from the headlining bands as well) that I Defy decided to turn the side project into a serious band.
A year further the band found their home at Reflections and released their first mini CD "First Strike" in 2002 The record recieved an overwhelming positive response from all over the world and motivated the band to play more live shows and even bring them to the U.K. as main support for The Hope Conspiracy.
May 2003 the first full length " The Firing Line" was released by Reflections Records and is now ready to continue where the first E.P. left off: 12 fast, melodic brand new songs that show a variety of musical influences from Stretch Arm Strong, Shelter even to bands like Dag Nasty.
The new record entitled "On The Outside" is coming out on THORP RECORDS on the 25th of July (Europe) and 8th of August (world). Watch out!!!

Ich wußte immer, daß es irgendwann soweit kommen würde. Aber jetzt ist der Knoten geplatzt: Ich brauche eine Band... versteht Ihr: ICH WILL WIEDER EINE BAND! Ob hier in Hamburg oder woanders, ist egal. Es MUSS sein... irgendwas mit der Energie der BAD BRAINS, darunter geht NICHTS! Totale Energie, positive destruction, die einzige Möglichkeit, die Scheiße aus mir rauszuprügeln! Und ich verspreche Euch: Es ist ALLES immer noch da!
