___________________ .... On Channel 83: The newest artist to join Channel 83's gallery is Olivier Lelong. Coming from a post-punk background and being exposed to the tradition of 80's French graphic art - Lelong has worked with a wide variety of different media, ranging from video, to illustration and performance. He moves from art to science with incredible ease - shifting the boundaries of the both, and of medicine in particular, in order to create the space for a novel take on the body mixing nature and culture, in an irreverent pastiche of scientific illustration and fetishistic graphics. -Albert Hofer ___________________________________________________________ Je m'appelle Olivier Lelong et je suis né en 1969, j'ai traversé les années 70 et son cinéma fantastique à lire des BDs underground dans une atmosphère teintée de psychédélisme, à la fin des années 80 avec l'émergence des arts graphiques et son nihilisme post-punk j'ai commencé à étudier les arts plastiques, la pub et réalisé mes premiers essais d'animation. C'est vers la fin des années 90 que les choses se sont précisées, je me suis formé à l'illustration médicale et aux aux NTIC, et à l'issue de mes études j'ai intégré un centre de recherche en téléchirurgie ou j'ai commencé à faire le lien entre art, science et nouvelle technologie. __________________________________________________________ .... __________________________________________________________ début 2000, la nouvelle économie crash presque en même temps que les twin towers. Je participe à des happenings et des performances avec le collectif franco-allemand ossobucco, composé en partie de Geogffroy Muller, Elodie Brochier, Thomas Lengert et Wolfgang Pietrzok en et fonde avec l'artiste Chritian Nicolas l'association d'art vidéo ideo à strasbourg.
