So Ed says “You’ve got to make friends”
It was never easy then, why would it be any different now?
And I mean to say you’re talking to a man who, to date, has neither mobile phone nor Broad Band, for pity’s sake he doesn’t even own an i-pod or a DVD player. Yes, he does now, after a 16 year absence, own a car and it has a CASSETTE player.
The idiot son don’t do technology, we are organic, I know this because that’s how people said the first album ‘Lummox’ sounded, which doesn’t mean we run around in the woods at night with Djembe, Didgeridoo and Castanets. And don’t even get me started on tents and festivals. Shove it, shove it all.
And lets face it, by the time we actually complete the 2nd album (which we started on 25th May 2005, a day synonymous with Thatcher sinking the Belgrano, probably more apt, not for it’s political connotations but rather than something of significant weight being sunk without trace), then MySpace will probably be as antiquated as that Cassette player.
So until then, what you have here is a couple of down loads from Lummox, an album that was 8 in Gideon Coe’s (BBC Radio 6) and 1, no less, in John Clarkson’s (Pennyblackmusic.com) favourites of the year.
There’s a web-site where you can get various other down-loads and whilst that, like the rest of us, is in need of a tuck and liposuction, it does have a link to a live journal blog which is possibly the most up to date thing we have.
It may not be much
But it’s all in the girth.

Hi Idiot Son... thanks for the sweet message.. I would suggest since you are enjoying all the attention from us laurens, you should write a song for us instead of Emily,hahaha.. ;-) love, lauren.. (love your songs by the way)
SO very very nice to see your beautiful face again! and thank you so much for positive respons - did you find my 4-free loads at sonicbids??? for you my virtual friend!
Look forward to the new record, I still enjoy the first one, pity you don't play the odd gig or two in Scotland since i've never saw you live. I'll keep an eye out for the new release. Best Phil
Thank you for your explanation of the situation re the bourbon. Empire Biscuit is always concerned when inferior snacks are being consumed, particularly in the workplace. I agree totally with your assessment of the garibaldi. If you require it i shall despatch one of my consuls to your establishment and demand high level talks with the biggest cheese there.
Brillig to hear from you ole pal... News? Still settling into Somerset and maintaining a positive attitude as to what the heck happens now! Writing THE Novel - yes, the very one that I have carried in a ragged, rather neglected metaphorical rucksack since teenage hood. This is its year... Practicing hypnotherapy here and there; really enjoy it but not full time please! Any chance of getting together for a cuppa and a chat any time (Seeing as Somerset it an oft visited venue of yours - not)... Just saw the Burwood boy and am seeing the Parry girl soon (YEAY!)... life is delightfully rich. Bountiful blessings to you - any news of fellow friends? Hugs, Miranda
Greetings ol' friend of the rodent persuasion (in name only), just keeping my beak abreast... a highly confusing state of affairs at times... Wishing you exceedingly well, just like a cake of the Kipling variety, only better. Bountiful Blessings Miranda
We thought we would pop over and say how delighted we are that someone with such refined sensibilities as you (obviously, we only consider people of impeccable taste and style) has decided to be a friend of Gamine.
We realise how hard it is to find proper music these days and we certainly appreciate the efforts you are making by listening to our lovely songs. Well done!
Needless to say, we are returning the favour, and are mightily impressed by your merrie melodies (even if there are only two, when your fans would normally demand more!)
We hope to see you one of these fine days and we wish you all the love and luck in the world!
