In Dortmund begründete IDitafari 1990 mit seiner Frau Jutta und den vier gemeinsamen Söhnen Till, Moritz, Fritz und Yvo die Band IDITAFARI FAMILY.
Ab 1996 kam Anton Goretzki, langjähriger Freund von Iditafari, zur Band hinzu. Bis Heute besteht diese Bandformation unverändert. Ab 2006 spielt Janni das zweite Keyboard.

Die Weltgemeinschaft als große Familie zu sehen und dies in der Musik auszudrücken ist das Hauptanliegen der IDITAFARI FAMILY Band. Songs und Lyrics behandeln die Wirklichkeit der Ras-Tafari-Philosophie (Kopf-Schöpfer-Erkenntnis) vor dem Hintergrund der multikulturellen Weltgeschichte.

Dita Fari saw Bob Marley in 1980 on one of his last concerts in Dortmund. The Inspiration from that day gave him power to follow the History of the Rastafari-Movement for more than 25 years. During this long journey Dita Fari was working as a socialworker and songwriter teaching school-drop-out-children.
The official stage carrier of IDITAFARI FAMILY started in the year 2000 playing a Benefit-Concert for croatian children in Split (Croatia).
On shows brother Anton G. from Poland plays also rootsguitar.
