"little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen" -John 1 5:21
Aggressive, Grinding, Sludgy, Punishing, Technical, Epic and Melodic, just a few words that describe Seattle’s latest ultra complex Heavy Duty Death Core quintet. Founded in the Seattle area during the summer of 2007, the super group has been kicking ass and taking names ever since and effortlessly so. Idols has defined and redefined their genre many times over, constantly honing their chops and always remaining one step ahead of the competition. If the success of their first single, “Criss Angel,” is any indication, the release of their new EP, “Dehumanization,” is going to set Seattle and the world on fire.
Idols command the stage with dual Schecter 7 string assault, and thundering 6 string bass attack. The vocals exhibit terrifying, low belches and screeching, blood curdling highs that are sure to excite even the most tepid in the audience. The pounding, lightning fast bludgeon of the drums can be felt rippling through the crowd like a shockwave, with groove slamming beats that inspire a barbaric frenzy to erupt from the hordes below. Upon hearing the band live, the bands they draw inspiration from are easily recognizable; Whitechapel, Through the Eyes of the Dead, Between the Buried and Me, Behemoth, Born of Osiris, Suffocation, and The Faceless are just a few of the many bands that Idols bases its sound on.
Truly the world is on the edge of its seat in apprehension and suspense. The long awaited EP will indefinitely have a colossal impact on the surrounding metal scene. The world anxiously awaits the release of what they have created in magnitude of their image, for they are Idols.
