In October of 2006 IED (short for Improvised Explosive Device) was formed by the mildly wayward members of Datura Inoxia as a more serious and heavier outlet. The band draws from founding members, Matt Hilend and Jonny Distance's personal tastes (Matt: Death Metal/Nu-Metal/Metalcore, Jonny D: Rock/Metalcore/Alternative) and their combined backgrounds in industrial to form the ultimate mix of spine-breaking brutality and surgical finesse.
IED has come to be an amalgamut of the struggle towards becoming enlightened and a distillation of Eastern and Western religious effigies coupled with a careful mix of pharmacology, insanity and pure 100% uncut adrenaline. Just two guys making some death metal, think of us as Steely Death (Kudos if you get that ref).
