About me:
The IFBL was started in 2005 by Brent Gambrel. Brent has a strong background in entertainment and promoting and has personally worked with JADAKISS, STYLES P, BIZZY BONE, EIGHBALL&MJG, LIL FLIP, RADIO ONE/CBS RADIO as well as advertising sales and promotions for the HOWARD STERN SHOW and 98.5 WNCX. After losing his business partner to an early death, a new focus was needed. Originally, the goal of the IFBL was simply to provide low-key nights of entertaining fights for local fans to enjoy. Along the way, we have been very lucky to associate with several quality fighters, managers, teams and organizations. Most of all, any success achieved is largely owed TO OUR FANS!!!
Though we have parted ways with some recently...our current staff is great. There will always be a few haters in the MMA world but that comes with advancement and success in any field. If you never had a job in sports or MMA at all and were given trust and a chance to shine here....MAYBE A THANK YOU INSTEAD OF A FUCK YOU WOULD BE MORE APPROPRIATE. Be careful swimming in the shark tank and we do wish you luck.
As for the fighters...we are in this biz for 2 reasons: Fighters and Fans. PERIOD. The IFBL has always put the fans and fighters first. We are known for treating the amateurs as well as we treat the pros and we treat the pros as well as possible. We pay the most we are able to pay out in purses. We are aware of our spot in the MMA food chain. We don't try to be bigger than we are. Without bigger orgs like the UFC, WEC, PRIDE, IFL etc...we wouldn't exist!!
We are essentially a "feeder" league for the UFC, PRIDE, WEC, IFL and similar professional fighting organizations. WE ARE NOT DIRECTLY AFFILIATED WITH ANY OF THESE LEAGUES MENTIONED. we simply provide a safe, professional place for fighters to gain experience and put together a fight portfolio.
We promote PROFESSIONAL and AMATEUR SANCTIONED FIGHTS.
We comply with all OHIO ATHLETIC COMMISSION rules and regulations.
NEW AND IMPROVED...THE IFBL HAS MADE A FEW CHANGES/ADDITIONS AND WE ARE LOOKING TO EXPAND. WE NOW HAVE A 30,000 SQ FT TRAINING FACILITY, A CLOTHING AND EQUIPMENT STORE AND A NEW STAFF. MORE FIGHTS AND NEW LOCATIONS ARE COMING SOON.
