Members attending our annual IFKF International Conferences have highlighted the benefits of prevention and screening programs successfully operating in Australasia, Europe, South America, New Zealand and the United States. These prevention programs are particularly cost effective in large populations and in remote regional areas. The relentless progression to kidney failure can be slowed or reduced by between 20-50% in most cases. |

About me:
Chronic Kidney Disease: common, harmful, treatable
At the 7th annual IFKF Conference Sicly, members submitted posters on their celebrations of the 1st World Kidney Day 2006. This site features this collection for IFKF members.
The IFKF team is a strong force to bring global focus to the prevention and treatment of kidney disease. It has grown from 19 members in 2001 when established, to 50 members in 2006 representing 37 different countries.

The tremendous interest, enthusiasm and commitment of association members in 45 countries from Albania to Zimbabwe turned this year’s first World Kidney Day into an impressive event. We are pleased to share the news that the campaigning won the Make a Better World Award. Granted by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and the Center for Association Leadership, this annual award recognizes outstanding association programs and activities that make a significant contribution to societies and economies worldwide.
