all music in general!!!
Never wanted to be a DJ! My first concept of that was a person who at a radio station played records. I inspired to be what they played. I've listened to everything, coming from another country. All the english I heard sounded like gibberish with a rhythmic flow over music instruments. Was about 6 when I first heard American music. Before that was all Mexican music. At about age 8, wanted to play an instrument, I got a saxophone. Found it extremely hard to learn and maybe a little boring. Later on found out that I have dyslexia.
By the age of 12, started to experiment with signal flow. How sound travels from one source to another. In other words, the ins and outs sorta speak. By 16 had my first recording set up. Equipment included a Peavy 8 track mixer, some Casio keyboard with a sampler build in, a CD player, a couple of Radio Shack microphones and a few good friends who wanted to have fun. All going to a regular tape recorder.
Learning midi was I think the hardest process I have learned. Figuring out if I should use MMC, MTC, Midi clock etc? Which machine is the slave and the one whose the master? Midi is the process in which electronic music instruments can control one another and exchange system data. It was with Cakewalk Pro Audio 8, a Boss drum machine, another Casio keyboard, and a Yamaha TX81Z where I constructed my first chain. Moved over to an Roland 880 then to the 2480, I like to mix to DAT and in the future am looking to work with reel to reel tape machines.
COLORADO MUSIC BUZZ REVEIW
What separates this compilation from others I've heard is that between the riffs and banging bass-lines are skits with a comedic twist that keep you entertained further displaying Estilos unique personality woven into his music.

I.M.C.T Entertainment Presents:
In Any City on Any Street (if music could talk)
When music talks it tells us true-life stories of love, pain and death. In Estilos debut release we learn lessons about life told through the eyes of MCs and DJs from around the US revolving around these themes. When such a talented group of artists appear on one album, the outcome is inevitable, especially under the wise direction of Estilo, who produced, mixed, mastered and recorded all the songs in his tiny Denver studio. Through his gritty and deep beats lives In Any City on Any Street are exposed and portrayed through the lyrical Prowess of MCs such as Contact, Destro, Sidfly, Weezy and others. Brought into compliment their true-to-life experiences are Denvers own Shake and Mier, Tense and MersyOne, a group of DJ's with unbelievable skill on the wheels of steel. The finished product is something you can bump in any city on any street.
I.M.C.T Entertainment prides itself on preaching the truth through hip-hop, so what you receive in the form of this record is a piece of the streets-where hip-hop was born. There are no gold chains, rims, grills or dead presidents glorified on this album. The axioms that life is pain and music is life are thoroughly manifested throughout the record. The signature track comes from Destro in Lifes so Hard where we learn of a struggling drug dealer trying to make a change in the face of Americas racially and politically charged climate. When music talks, it tells these stories. Its up to you to listen.
