Sounds Like
The magnificent, other-worldly, ever expanding Universe that lives within all of the most beautiful of human minds. --- True artistic exploration & invention must forsake what other mortals have created before their time. This is in point of fact what is so terribly wrong with main-stream music production, and the average American Listener. --- There are 2 forms of Creative, the greater and the lessor: The Inventor, and the Replicator.
"My life was fraught with angst and turmoil. I ended up homeless, hungry and alone. Through the course of recovery I embarked upon a path of spiritual awakening. A path which has taken me the length & breadth of our nation, as well as into remote and unusual places throughout the world. I've lived in a Bamboo Hut in the mountains of the Philippines, traveled the country back roads of Kazakhstan, and I've been held at gunpoint by a gang of stoned Mexican Army-men. For a man once dead, I've lived quite a colorful life of exploration and discovery.
In 88' I moved from West Palm Beach, Florida to live among the peaceful, rolling wooded hills of East Texas. I now own all that I possess and live a life free from debt.
I was trained in Classical Guitar in my youth, but quit after only two years because it made me a fag within my circle of friends. In my later teens I took up Drums and Percussive, and proved to be a natural at producing complex beat/rhythyms, which I employed in a progressive band for a short while. When our guitar player left for college that ended my dream of headlining alongside Yes, Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Genesis & Gentle Giant. He was a rare genius I'd liken to Jocko, Hendrix, Santana and those rare naturals like them. --- I've never met another like him. It was like a miracle passed through my life briefly. But was thwarted from achieving full manifestation.
I had traveled in Christian Missions/Ministry circles for two decades. Though only part of the support staff, I worked for a labeled musician (Jerry Williams; Harvest) on and off over a period of 7 years, which convinced me to pursue the life of a Composer/Musician over public performance. I trained in live sound reinforcement under Wally Dugood, famous also in the Christian industry (mixed for Biily Gram 30 plus years, and has engineered systems around the world). I also trained briefly in the studio under Buck Herring (Second Chapter of Acts), who before entering into the Christian rock scene had to his credit producing for Helen Redding (I Am Woman). (Second Chapter & Harvest are the forefathers of Christian Rock).
Yet during this season my path remained centered on being a servant to the poor, taking homeless and addicted men into my own home, providing them with an opportunity to get their life back on course. Though these opportunities to segue into the music business appealed to me greatly, I was not yet ready to quit doing the things that gave my once diminutive life such great meaning.
After 20 years I became more than a little burned out by the contradictions of Church politics, judgmental attitudes and behavior that so greatly contrasted my heart, thoughts and insistence on a life of love, gentleness, forgiveness and acceptance, which are the cornerstone of the spirit life. So I quit the religion and will never again subject myself to the insanity of it.
In 2003 I invested in the construction and furnishing of an Art & Recording Studio, and set out to capture that previously lost lifelong dream. Last year, I quit my lucrative professional career in the Insurance Industry, and began the process of turning the amazing sounds and music in my mind into an audible reality.
What you will find here, in my work, is the culmination of my life's experience and the realization of that once lost dream."
