I'm Ian Williams, musician and recording engineer located in Cedar Rapids, IA. My
second album, 11 Songs for Summer, was released June 21st, 2007. Some of you might recognize me as a guitar player for Marion band the Wheelers.
If you enjoy music by the Teddy Boys, the Beatles, the Kinks, the Strokes, Spoon, the
Beach Boys, Cake, the Apples in Stereo, or Ambulance Ltd, you might enjoy the stuff I'm doing.
I also co-own and operate a full blown recording studio in Marion, IA. Visit the website www.soundhole.org.
Nice. Are you still doing shows pretty often? If you've got a gig while I'm home in June, I should defiitely try to make a show. Moved to Portland last July... and love it, except the not having a teaching job here. Erin D. lives here too, so we hang out every once in a while, kinda nice to have a friend from home on the other side of the country.
yeah man, we were just practicing with our new keys/synth kid tonight and we're gonna practice tomorrow at 9:30 in the morning at our drummers house... haha we're so hard core. but yes, i can't wait to record again. would just after christmas work better for you? or does it really matter?
hey remember when we used to talk a lot? as opposed to you know, not at all... theres gotta be some happy medium! I haven't been online hardly anymore, and you've probably been busy.. fair excuse. Hope the studio is going well.. so guess who of, all the most amazing people possible, is playing the Funny Bone (comedy club) here in Springfield? NORM MACDONALD! 4 shows of awesomeness... What ya think of Death magnetic? I know your not a metal guy, but that was a pretty decent comeback album for some old farts
Daniel from soundhole told me your rhodes could use some maintenance work, I have my own rhodes suitcase 73 model and know how to tune, set escapement, voice, and set up the keys(so they play quicker and less muddy). I'd love to come check out the soundhole and hook you up with some maintenance. Hope this doesn't come off as creepy or nothing since you don't know me, but if it makes you feel better i'm a work friend of devin ferguson at walgreens...anyways let me know what you think, by the way killer songs man!
