Oh, I have lots of interests... the joys of a liberal arts education...I love music and a wide variety of music...swing and latin dancing. I am a total junkie for live music (oxymoron?). Well, I love seeing bands perform in the small local venues.
I try to cook and after many decades now by brother will eat my cooking.
 | | Music | Music fills my days... I am an expert radio and stereo player! I can't play an instrument, though I have tried, but a I do play a mean CD. I have an extensive cd collection with genres ranging from medeival to jazz, punk and swing. I could not possibly list all of my favorites but Glenn Miller, Elvis, Sting, Louis Armstrong and Willie Nelson are up there on my list. Local bands that I love are the Rivers Rockabilly Trio (www.theriversonline.com)Big Tubba Mista (go to their myspace), Nate Myers and the Aces (see their myspace as well), and Steven Courtney (www.stevencourtney.com). The Red Elvises (www.redelvises.com)- Your Favorite Band!! Go see them when they are near you -- an amazing show!
Support you local musicians. They do it for the love of the music!

I will be reading my graduate texts and reading the texts for the grade that I am teaching next school year. | | Heroes | I do look up to the ability to be singular in focus, so on my list is Lance Armstrong for similar reasons. Without such determination he would never have excelled and dominated in cycling or in life. I only wish to have such conviction, willpower and deep sense of purpose as he has had. Since I am a poster child for skin cancer (though it has not affected me yet), I look to Lance
for the inspiration that I could beat the cancer!

About me:
What to say about me....I am 41 years old and still trying to figure out my life. You'd think that by my age I would know what I was doing.
Well, I think I know a direction to point myself.......a different direction now...I am about to start another graduate program, this time with Boise State University (I LOVE BOISE! You should visit there sometim.) I will be studying Educational Technology. Wish me luck!

Who I'd like to meet:
I would like to meet my great-grandmother, Maria Gambone. From all the stories I have heard she sounds like a very wise woman. "All you have is family."
On a more shallow side I would just become a blubbering fan if I ever met Sting who is one of the most intelligent song writers and performers ever.
It is my mission this year to meet as many local musicians and see as many local bands as my schedule will allow.....Yeah for those hometown bands!!
Can you dig it??? I am the only LISA KURCINA in the USA!!! The world couldn't handle two of us...
