Igneous Human was formed in 2008 in Falköping, Sweden. It grew from Gaphia, a band originally set up in 1998.
In 2005 the band entered into talks with Clas Sjöstrand, owner of the Surroundworks studio in Kungälv/Gothenburg. Clas had done the audio mastering for Gaphia’s demo (“The Gate”), recorded in 2004. Pleased with the result, the band asked Clas to record their debut album and help them with their musical development. This was to prove a turning point for Gaphia.
Gaphia’s first stage concept was developed at this time. Makeup and costumes transformed the band members into ‘demons’, to get the band’s message across about the way humans think, behave and function.
Recording on Gaphia’s debut album began in autumn 2007 with producer Clas Sjöstrand at the Surroundworks studio. Halfway through, however, the last of the Gaphia guitarists left the band. There had been differences of opinion about the way their music should develop.
This was the point when Igneous Human came into being. Now with a new name and a new stage concept, former Gaphia members Andreas Joelsson, John Thorner and Mikael Gustavsson teamed up with guitarist Daniel Persson to complete the recordings begun with Clas Sjöstrand. The search for another guitarist continued.
Soon they were ready to present two of their songs on www.garageband.com. The response was great.
In the fall of 2008, the band had its first gig as Igneous Human at Slakthuset in Nyköping. They played as the supporting act for Entombed, a Stockholm band. And it was a great success, even though they were one man short on stage (only one guitarist).The quest for more members resulted in Ewo Solvelius joining Igneous Human early in 2009.
Igneous Human signed with the brand-new record label Tractor Productions Black Label March 2009. With five members, they were all set to complete their debut album.
The singer's unique growl-style, the technical bass play and the variation between heavy and melodious riffs defines the band's music. This gives a large width that is guaranteed to catch the audience's attention.
The debut album, named "Pyroclastic Storms", got a great reception with good reviews, and is on sale since November 16, 2009.

Angående evolutionen: Vi är redo att utveckla lemmar och klättra upp ur den västgötska ur-sörjan av miljontals band. Vi tror att med er kan vi bli den naturlagstrotsande, fjäderbeklädda styggelse vi har potentialen att bli. Låt primal-trumman skalla i urtidsnatten!
vidare utveckling: Det är så lätt att stagnera i brist på medel och gensvar, fettsyrorna härsknar. Vi behöver en jordgubbes antioxidanter för att växa och blomma.
Familjen och musiken: Vi är ett familje-band; alla är kusiner och har känt varandra sedan födseln. En sexmanna orkester bestående av fem människor och ett nånting, förenade av blod och en gemensam, brinnade passion för musiken. Vi spelar musiken vi älskar och fått med modersmjölken, filtrerad i den västgötska myllan, destillerad i farsans hembränningsapparat och revitaliserad genom våran egen, högst personliga prägel. Det handlar om rock`n`roll som den lät strömmande ur våra fäders bössor när vi var små parvlar, och förankrad i egna erfarenheter. Erfarenheter som består av ett hundratal gig, miljontals fyllespelningar och utbildningar som tagit oss från Skellefteås scenografiska skola via Musik o Produktion i Skara ända till L.A. och deras M.I.(Musicians institute)
