Bill Evans, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Thelonious Monk, Oscar Peterson, Brad Mehldau, Esbjörn Svensson Trio, Robert Glasper, Abe Rabade, Kenny Barron, George Duke, Wayne Shorter, Fred Hersch, Ravi Coltrane, Avishai Cohen, Stan Getz, my father (also pianist)... and all the Motown and Quincy Jones R'n'B stuff I listened to when I was young. I am also constantly getting inspired by a lot of guys I come to know around here on myspace and live on stage in Madrid.
Pianist and composer Igor Prochazka was born in Zlin (Czech Republic) in a family of entertainment music professionals. After about ten years of basic classical piano education in Duesseldorf, Germany, he worked as bar pianist, presenting pop and jazz classics in exclusive restaurants and hotels.
Now he is based in Madrid, Spain, being member of several musical projects like Stormy Weather (house band in Café Berlín), Acoplajazz (Popular Spanish song mixed with jazz), Venueconnection (Acid-Jazz, Funk, Soul), Sambaya (New Brazilian music). Today he mainly works with Igor Prochazka Trio (IPT), a band that has been founded in late 2006 with Christian Perez (double-bass) and Federico Marini (drums), some of the most in-demand musicians in the capital's Jazz scene.

June 2007: First Prize in nation-wide contest "Audiciones" for best jazz group, awarded by Fundación Canal (Madrid, Spain)
February 2008: 6th position in the ranking of Best Jazz CDs 2008 word-wide for "Easy Route" (Igor Prochazka Trio), awarded by Jazz Hihyo - Jazz Critique Magazine (Tokyo, Japan)
