A breakdown of my events / what I do:
STRAIGHT GOODS Established in August 2007, a monthly no-format club night run by Iggy Smalls and 3x Canadian DMC champ DJ Drastik. Parallel music tastes and shared dancefloor aspirations fused to spark a simple concept: spread their favourite eclectic sounds with the help of tomorrow’s finest foreign talents - with an aim to showcase names that have never graced Ottawa with their sound before. Past guests include Bloc Party, Steve Aoki, Tittsworth, Klever, Stretch Armstrong, Pase Rock, Eli Escobar, DZ, Treasure Fingers, Sammy Bananas, DJ Sega, Dirty South Joe, Cobra Krames, Neoteric, U-Tern, Team Canada, Jokers of the Scene, South Rakkas Crew, Stylusts Crew, Huggs, Illo, T-Wrecks, Cashtro, La New Shit, among others. STRAIGHT GOODS x DISORGANISED Established in 2003, the Jokers of the Scene headed monthly party has become one of Canada’s most notorious club nights. A staple in Ottawa’s music scene, it has hosted some of the world’s most reputable entertainers, from MSTRKRFT, Diplo, and Crookers, to Crystal Castles, Girl Talk, and Switch. In October 2008, the Straight Goods family was made a permanent collaborator and co-presenter of Disorganised, with Drastik as resident and Iggy Smalls as host & co-booker (with Jokers of the Scene).
