About me: I constantly surround myself with unhealthy amounts of music. I manage DJ Drastik. I have a Nutella obsession. I used to be able to dunk when I was 5’6”, but then I popped my knee out. Now that the NBA is no longer an option, I spend my days listening to music and eating Nutella, and nights throwing various club/concert events.
A breakdown of my events / what I do:
STRAIGHT GOODS Established in August 2007, a monthly no-format club night run by Iggy Smalls and 3x Canadian DMC champ DJ Drastik. Parallel music tastes and shared dancefloor aspirations fused to spark a simple concept: spread their favourite eclectic sounds with the help of tomorrow’s finest foreign talents - with an aim to showcase names that have never graced Ottawa with their sound before. Past guests include Bloc Party, Tittsworth, Klever, Stretch Armstrong, Pase Rock, Eli Escobar, DZ, Treasure Fingers, Sammy Bananas, DJ Sega, Dirty South Joe, Cobra Krames, Neoteric, U-Tern, Team Canada, Jokers of the Scene, South Rakkas Crew, Stylusts Crew, Huggs, Illo, T-Wrecks, Cashtro, La New Shit, among others. STRAIGHT GOODS x DISORGANISED Established in 2003, the Jokers of the Scene headed monthly party has become one of Canada’s most notorious club nights. A staple in Ottawa’s music scene, it has hosted some of the world’s most reputable entertainers, from MSTRKRFT, Diplo, and Crookers, to Crystal Castles, Girl Talk, and Switch. In October 2008, the Straight Goods family was made a permanent collaborator and co-presenter of Disorganised, with Drastik as resident and Iggy Smalls as host & co-booker (with Jokers of the Scene). KAPACITY ENTERTAINMENT We been bringin' the world’s finest hiphop talents to Canada’s capital since 1999. Past guests include De La Soul, Mobb Deep, Method Man, Redman, RZA, Clipse, Talib Kweli, Dizzee Rascal, Atmosphere, The Pharcyde, Jedi Mind Tricks, Hieroglyphics, DJ Premier, Q-Bert, A-Trak, ?uestlove, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Kid Koala… plus over 150 others.
