IHEARTCOMIX EVENTS is renowned throughout the world for throwing some of the most groundbreaking and innovative events currently in existence by proving time and again to be ahead of current trends. They are an event production company specializing in grassroots marketing techniques. Their goals have been to showcase exciting, new music, art and products through hosting fun and creative events, while also offering their own brand advertisement. They present a unique and effective marketing opportunity through established audiences, reputation for quality events and customer satisfaction, and success at introducing bands, artists and products into new markets.
Began in Los Angeles, CA in 2003 as the brainchild of FRANKI CHAN, who had worked as a booking agent in Bellingham and Seattle, WA at the Showoff Gallery and Graceland respectively, IHEARTCOMIX was used as an outlet for him to throw his own parties and publish his own comic books. Over the course of the next two years, FRANKI went on to establish and DJ at several successful weekly nights around the Los Angeles area, which include Fucking Awesome at the Beauty Bar, Cinespace Tuesdays at Cinespace, Block Party at 1650, Sunday-Funday at The Standard Hotel Rooftop (downtown), Loose Tooth at Forbidden City/Josephs and CHECK YO’ PONYTAIL at Safari Sam’s. Each garnered their fair share of press from several national publications including: Rolling Stone, Spin, Jane, Urb BPM, Paper, Vapors, LA.com, LA Weekly, The Stranger and many more. FRANKI also began expanding to host several one off and monthly parties nationwide, all under the moniker IHEARTCOMIX, also to great success.
In 2005, long time friend, TRAVIS HAYDEN, joined with FRANKI and the current IHEARTCOMIX team was born. IHEARTCOMIX expanded from one man's hobby to a full fledged business. In 2006, they decided to expand even more and add on the addition a record label, IHEARTCOMIX RECORDS.
Currently, IHEARTCOMIX EVENTS is hosting THE NEW CHECK YO’ PONYTAIL at ECHOPLEX every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month in Los Angeles, plus several one off events in Los Angeles, New York, Seattle, Chicago and the rest of the world. IHEARTCOMIX continues to strive to stay at the forefront of innovation and creativity within the entertainment industries and throw the best parties ever.
