Jukka Hautamäki is Finnish video and sound artist. He works with video, digital photography and experimental soundscapes. He picks his material from surroundings and often presents them in multichannel installations.
In his earlier works, he has used methods of visual expression using mytological narration as a source of inspiration. He has used for example Kalevala, the Finnish national epic, making comparison for modern days.
Using programming for creating unique visual experiencies, Hautamäki tries to find similar visual phenomenias from real world, by using different kind of reflecting surfaces and substancies. One man, one camera (or recorder).
Combining digital world and real world can be challenging for the viewer. Hautamäki is making connections between painting, digital still images and video art. Living objects together with abstract “chaos” create poetic stream of visual storytelling.
