"One Minute Wanda" is the latest artist to be awarded a the prime feature slot at the next Burton Street Open mic night on 18th Aug. Previously featured acts include Tarana, Chris Treebeard & Paul Pearson and Anna Haigh.
" One Minute Wanda" aka Jo Pearson is a multidisciplinary artist whose previous film and web work has been funded by the Arts Council, Channel 4 and the BBC. Her work has been shown on British television as well as in dozens of festivals worldwide.
Her embryonic but unique performance work has grown out of a developing interest in words, sound, music and performance. Through various online and 'live' personae she explores, often with an absurd, acerbic and penetrating wit, wide-ranging themes from life in general to life in detail.
