lack of sleep, new handkerchiefs, asthma, medicare, dust mites, fast food wrappers, stolen mail, the spirit of christmas, the manfax logo... and who could forget? that other one.
plinks, blips, hums, warbles, meeps, throbs, bangs, clunks and shuffles. improvised and otherwise; sparring speakers.
ii are (more) proper. landlakes, aka album number one, is in stores now (or on its way there) with the assistance of feral media. (diamond-encrusted financiers keen on funding vinyl or overseas releases, please be in touch.)
* AUSTRALIAN TOUR, JULY/AUGUST 2008! *
ii will be touring extensively in July/August; visiting Perth, Adelaide, Canberra, Sydney and Brisbane, with thanks to the soundtravellers funding program. We'll let fly with dates and such soon!
Hey there, good to "see" you! I think it's safe to say that I can't look at a ferry ever again without thinking of synchronized dancing! Hope things are going great. Your music is lovely!
more beautiful music from Australia. too bad we didn't have a chance to hang out yesterday. if you guys are still kicking 'round 33 Yale c. 1pm today, you should come upstairs and hang out with the band. we can do a big jambouree around the Dylan covers.
i think you will find that i am looking left over my shoulder, not just right. well sometimes i simply provide a bass compensation with my voice, a simple "doo doo" (as can be heard in our recording). as we dont have a bass player this adds neccissary intensity when needed. also, being a 'bass' line which often match bass drum pattersns i can easily syncronise. although in our new song there is a galloping guitar and snare drum rhythm which i sing 'what's your poison?' over the top and that conflicts a little but ive been playing drums for long enough to deal with that shit. ya kna -w' mean?!! but i cant sing well, as you could also hear on our recording. haha i dont care and i like it better that its rough and indie and shit :P do you drum-sing? what is your favourite 'time signature and key to sing and play drums' combination?
Hello Jon and the other other i of ii. Thanks for your comment. It brightened my sick little day. Unfortunately I have come down with a nasty cold, hopefully it will clear before exams, though it looks doubtful. I am chewing on vitamins and drinking lots of water. Just what the mother ordered. I hope your things are going better than my dreary health. I look forward to a full fledged update from you soon! Take care when care is required and smile often. x
