The band experienced their heyday in 1984-87 when the music exploded, the stage shows grew ever wilder and larger and the band even had a genre of its own: "Pig Punk".
This was due to an incident where members of the audience threw a pig's head on stage.
Hated by all other bands on the Danish scene, IJ-X continued pursuing their goal of finding the ultimate provocation.
In 1988, however, audiences had grown too violent, and the band took a break.
In 1991 they got back together, played four gigs and took another break.
In may of 2007 they returned to the rehearsel room and recently even a recording studio.
Later this year the greatest hits vinyl with bonus cd, the live dvd and the official bio in book form will be released.
