MySpace a place for friends

Dj IK has been mixing drum and bass since 1997. The beginning of his musical education is strictly connected with noise guitar music such as Jesus Lizard, Swans and Sonic Youth. In the course of time, his musical taste inspired by musicians like Einsturzende Neubauten or Skinny Puppy headed for electronic music and, crawling in those days in Poland on all fours, techno scene. Drum and bass proved to meet the best his musical interests and “danceability”. Since this time he has been exploring this music genre. In cooperation with other members of audiovisual party collective Sala Numer 6 (www.salanumer6.com) he has been organizing parties in Warsaw clubs. Among the artists ha has supported he holds in high esteem especially: Corrupt Souls, Mindscape, Crossfire, Implex, Dissident, Blame, Dose D, Subhead, Kero, Tobias Schmidt, Luke Slater. Till today he feels best, and most willingly plays, at parties in bunkers, deserted workhouses and open-airs. His favorites clubs in which he played are Cdq, M25 and Le Madame in Warsaw and Tresor and Rotter Saloon in Berlin. Since 1990 he has also been producing music in groups Konca Taniec and Serferzy na Falach Chaosu. His mixes are available at www.djik.prv.pl
