Welcome to Il Drago Kennels MySpace. We are hard at work for the last 13 years breeding, showing and being passionate about this crazy breed of dog called a Neapolitan Mastiff. With 2 locations, Il Drago East located in Indianapolis, IN and Il Drago West located in Los Angeles, CA we invite you to check our site at www.ildragokennels.com. Please feel free to contact us with any questions about Neapolitan Mastiffs or our kennel. Take heed that this is not a breed for everyone, PLEASE educate yourself on the Mastino before purchasing! Below are some pics of us with our Mastini over the last 12 years.
Il Drago is proud to post pics below of some of the pups that we have produced in the past decade. Il Drago has sold pups in every state & all over the world. Big Boi from Outcast is just one of our celebrity clients. Visit our site and see the progression of some of these pups. Il Drago Amadea went on to be the first female to even beat the boys as the winner of the 2003 USNMC Nationals. Il Drago Galiano is a champion now, you can see Il Drago in the pedigrees of some great dogs. We are producing true Italian type Neapolitan Mastiffs with mass, wrinkle, fat square heads & short muzzles with great bone.
We have 3 males that we are currently working with at Il Drago Kennels between our East & West locations. CH Il Drago Galiano, a large, stately black male from some of our own lines. He is the son of a male we bred Adamo di Lapillo & a female we imported from Italy in 2001, CH Africa dello Stradone. I had the pleasure of owning his grandmother "Galiana" she is also his namesake. Galiano maintains his rank in the top 25 of the AKC list. He is available for stud and is proven with some gorgeous babies in the world. He is at home and loved daily by his family, The Shipleys, not too far from me. Another male that is in LA is CH Gonfiezza Bosa Nova, AKA Bobby. He is a giant blue male from the notorious CH Ironstone Giorgio. Bobby was bred by Soctt & Patti Care and is co-owned with Della Vecchia Roma Kennels in CA. He also maintains his top 25 rank and is proven and avaialble for stud. The other male is Ferdinando del Feudo Nisseno, bred by Pierluigi Scalia, and co-owned with Della Vecchia Roma Kennels. He is a short, stocky, heavy-boned, blue male that is a son of Agamennone di Fondo Anfossi and a grandson of the infamous World CH Brigante del Castellaccio. He was bred by Pierluigi Scalia. "Nando" is an incredible sire and although he isn't in the ring, his offspring are and they are stomping ass all over the country. We are proud to own and exhibit and use these 3 wonderful males in our breeding program.
Our females are the heart of our kennel, as they are the ones that actually produce our future. We lost the old matriarch Il Drago Dysis in 2008, who had retired back at home with us. She was one of the dirtiest dogs that I have ever owned, her sister and mother were sows as well. She was a lovely reflection of spectacular type though, with the maintenance of a show pony. She was from my first litter out of 2 dogs we imported from Italy, Peppiniello Jr dello Stradone & CH Africa dello Stradone. She is dearly missed and I buried her at Il Drago Farms next to her sister Medusa. Maximum's Divine is our resident mommy. She is daughter of Il Drago Mantra who was bred by us and is a brother to Dysis, & Maximums Athena who is out of a male we bred named Adamo di Lapillo. She has been an awesome producer and we expect to do a repeat litter with CH Il Drago Galiano in 2009. She is short and stocky with lots of type & character. Italia del Feudo Nisseno is our up & coming female from Del Feudo Nisseno Kennels is CA. She is an amazon, huge just like her sire, Illimani Tiberio. She is bred like a trooper & built like a ryder. We are planning to breed her to CH Il Drago Galiano in 2009. This is an outcross of size and incredible pedigrees, can't wait to see what comes from it. We kept Il Drago Lionessa from our Ch Il Drago Galiano x Maximum's Divne litter from 2008. She is a black female that is a carbon copy of her Daddy. There is video on the site when she is younger with her sire. She will be one to watch for in 2009.
