"Mr. I-lis" (pronounced: eye-lis) was born in the South American nation of Guyana, three miles outside the capital, Georgetown, in a little village named Plaisance. He later moved to Campbellville in the city where the seeds of Christianity and rebellion were sown into his life. "I-lis" excelled in school to the point where he skipped grades 3 times by age 10 and graduated high school at age 15. Just before the final year of high school, his family moved from the city and went to live further in the country-side, but he went back to Plaisance where all of his cousins and childhood friends were. It was then he fell in love with music and became a Dj on his uncle's sound system, and got the name "Papa I-lis". This was also the time when the rebellion began to take root. Although he had a very clean, decent image and was well respected, he was really rotten to the core. This was evidenced when he migrated to the US and got embroiled in all manner of evil, making bad choices and wrong decisions that almost destroyed his life. But he, like so many others experienced God's Grace and Mercy, when in 1997 he surrendered his life to Jesus Christ at Restoration Temple Assembly of God on Church Ave. in Brooklyn. Pastor John Cummimngs (The senior Pastor) preached a sermon on the danger of rejecting the call of Jesus Christ on your life, and he was not just convicted, "it was more like torment", he said. He then started to Dj at church services and evangelistic outreaches, blessing and being blessed. After years of "nuff wuk fuh L'il money" as he puts it, God has blessed him with a thriving business which has turned things around for him and his family. He attended Brooklyn Tabernacle for seven years under the leadership of Pastor Jim Cymbala, a man he greatly admires for his "uncomplicated and profound" way of teaching God's Word and deeply respects for his Integrity. In 2006 "I-lis" and his family moved from Brooklyn to Long Island, and they now fellowship at Bethlehem Assembly of God in Valley Stream, where they're involved in Ministry. When asked about the goal of his ministry he simply says: "to glorify God through every facet of my life and music". "Mr. I-lis" has 2 great passions. (1) To combat error, false religion and lies wherever they're found with the truth of God's Word. (2) To reach youths who are choosing the wrong friends, making bad decisions as a result, and engaging in activities they know are wrong, as he once did; To offer them Hope, Encouragement, and to be an Example, showing them that there is a way out. "I-lis", also known as "Doc" has Ministered at Church Services, Concerts, Evangelistic Outreaches, Conventions and Missions in New York, Texas and Jamaica. His favorite scripture is Hebrews 11:6(b): For they that come to the Lord must believe that HE is and HE's a Rewarder of those who Diligently seek HIM. Those who are really close to him knows that he coined the phrase, "money can always be replaced" and he lives by that.

The fundamental fact of existence is that this trust in God, this faith, is the firm foundation under everything that makes life worth living. It's our handle on what we can't see.
We take our lead from Christ, who is the source of everything we do. He keeps us in step with each other. His very breath and blood flow through us, nourishing us so that we will grow up healthy in God, robust in love.
Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don't try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God's voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; He's the one who will keep you on track.
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Do you see what this means— all these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans cheering us on? It means we'd better get on with it. Strip down, start running—and never quit!
