After taking a break to experience ‘life’, Illana is back with her roaring voice, think a vodka fuelled Joss Stone with a shot or two of Amy Winehouse, and a swag of songs that flip the bird to the lines between blues, soul and rock . To date she’s treaded the boards with Paul Kelly, Yothu Yindi, Tiddas, Killing Heidi , Renee Geyer and shared the bill with George and Tex Perkins amongst others.
Illana's performed live to air interviews on Triple J (her performance with Jimmy Little singing ‘Bury Me Deep In Love’ also aired on the station) and she was invited to appear on the ABC to perform a 30minute set to a live studio audience.
At the age of 25, Illana's back with new compositions to compliment her more familiar ‘gobsmackers’: Doin’ It, If You Can See Me and Lordy Mama (her adaptation of Nina Simone's 'Blues For Mama').
