illAudio currently hails from NW london (although his nomadic lifestyle means he'll probably be somewhere else by the time you read this). Rewind 23 years. Raised in a forest by a pack of wolves, a young boy was later discovered and taken into a family. In the deep depths of Cornwall, growing up around instruments, late night jams and illegal raves, the foundation was laid. Then the economic crisis of the 1990s hit hard, the queues to the job centre were getting too long, and ketchup sandwiches were malnourishing. They hit the road. The next few years were turbulent, but he found his spiritual home in London. Dropping out of college and learning studio skills first hand by working as a runner in some of the city's biggest studios, he began lurking in the shadows of the music industry. Working as a musician, engineer and then producer he quickly developed his own unique style, and since built up an army of sonic beasts. Unafraid to break rules and conventions, and with feat firmly on the dancefloor, the sound combines elements of rock, dubstep, electro, funk, breaks, d&b and more. It was this sound that caught the attention of Skunk Anansie's bassist Cass, who personally asked him to remix their debut single since their 8 year hiatus. "Because Of You" was released on 14th Sept 2009. From there he then reworked their following single 'Squander' that will also feature on the greatest hits album 'Smashes & Trashes' - Released Nov 2nd. They were blown away with the tracks so much that they commissioned illAudio to write the intro to their sold out European Tour. The Debut illAudio E.P "The Remedy" will also be released in Nov, featuring tracks "Killer" (With Roots Manuva) "Red Eye" (With Laid Blak) "Riddle Riddim" & "The Remedy". The illAudio album & live show is currently in formation, so hold tight...
