ILLEGAL JUNGLE CREW B-DAY
Illegal Jungle Crew – is a bunch of badboys, called upon developing ragga-jungle music in Ukraine.
At the end of 2007 two young DJ’s – Dj Shk (Dubplate Selectah, Kiev) and Dj D-White (Space Unity, Dp) decide to join their strains of moving ragga jungle music and culture in their country. Thus, Illegal Jungle Crew was born on 3 November 2007.
Less than in two weeks well-known Ukrainian dj – Dj Dusty (Badman Selectah, Germany), who played almost in all big cities of the country, blowing up dancefloors, joins the crew.
Right after him a talented producer HoT (Russia, Tula) enlarges the crew. HoT produces his music mostly in ragga-jungle style and plays his own material at parties.
And finally in January another well-known ragga-jungle scene figure enters the rank of Illegal Jungle Crew soldiers – Dj E>nergetic (Dp). This dj has an experience of plenty performances all over Ukraine and has rare vinyl releases in his collection, which let him perform unforgettable sets.
Some information about each member of the project:
Shk (Dubplate Selectah, Kiev)
Plays from the beginning of 2007. Performed in Kiev, Dnepropetrovsk, Kharkov, Novomoskovsk in Ukraine and in Belgorod in Russia. He’s an author and the host of “Illegal Jungle” internet radio-show which is dedicated exceptionally to ragga-jungle and dancehall culture. This is where Illegal Jungle Crew takes its name. Shk’s mixes make a detonating mixture of Jah-vibrations of dancehall and explosive rhythms of ragga-jungle. Shk sees his recent future in these two directions.
He plays from vinyl mostly.
D-White (Space Unity, Dp)
He started dj-ing in 2002. From that old time he tried to play various music. Since 2005 and till now, totally sunk into broken beats music Andrey has already took part in loads of parties with such guests as Aaron Spectre (USA), The Panacea (Germany), Future Engineers (Glasgow, UK), Raiden, Mutated Formz (Estonia) and many other foreign artists.
The beginning of 2006 considered as a reference point of his performances as a ragga-jungle dj. By this time he’s been performing in Dnepropetrovsk and region (Krivoy Rog, Nikopol, Dneprodzerjinsk), Zaporozhye, Kiev, Kherson, Iron Port, Kharkov and Crimea.
“Illegal Jungle Crew – is a ragga-jungle family where I can 100% see myself fulfilled as a ragga-jungle dj and I’m extremely happy with this. If I do ragga-jungle I do it with Illegal Jungle Crew”, - says Andrey.
Dj Dusty (Badman Selectah, Stuttgart, Germany)
Dj Dusty aka Dmitry was carried along with electronic music since 1996. First he was keen on Hardcore and Break-beat but later he became interested in Big-beat and Drum and bass culture…
He started his dj’s career in 2000. He studied at dj-school Back2School. In three month after beginning studying at school, he was declared as a Back2School’s year revelation and began teaching there… Thanks to him underground culture now has a lot of djs, his apprentices who play various music styles.
Since 2000 he played big-beat, in 2001 – drum’n’bass, then switched to ragga-jungle. By the way, Dj Dusty’s the first dj who started playing ragga-jungle in Ukraine. He’s an organizer of plenty of parties in different Kiev night clubs. He took part in about 100 parties in different cities of Ukraine, Russia and Belarus.
He performed on one scene with such celebrities as Rcola, Technical Itch, Bad Company, Future Prophecies, John B, The Panacea, Limewax and a lot of other internationally known artists, not mentioning many Russian and Ukrainian representatives of the scene.
Now he lives in Stuttgart, Germany.

HoT (Russia, Tula)
Ragga-jungle producer-beginner. He started to compose his first tracks in 1997, by 2000 basic mass of his compositions were ragga-jungle tracks.
In 2006 his composition Gas-jet was included to “Tonz of Drumz vol.4” mix of DJ K & DJ CRS.
From the beginning of 2007 well-known Russian drum’n’bass dj, Dj Gvozd, became interested about his music. HoT’s tracks were performed on St. Petersburg radio “Record” in Russian hour of “Pirate Station”. In addition, some American, Canadian, Russian and Ukrainian dj’s include his music into their mixes.
In November 2007 his track was released in a compilation “Russian DRUM&BASS” presented by “Pirate Station” label and national radio station “Record”.
At the beginning of 2008 enters Illegal Jungle Crew.
Dj E>nergetic (Dp)
Multiple throwing from one promo-group to another didn’t bring anything but disappointment. Ideas and thoughts often didn’t coincide with my wishes and stylistics, but like-minded musicians are finally found!
In Illegal Jungle Crew I find understanding and a clear view of what we have to do!
Well in a few words – “tuff like steel and sharp like sword!!” Besides, we strictly position ourselves as RJ team.
You will hear nothing but selected ragga-jungle from us! ?
Chronology of my performing stretches its roots to 2004. Since immemorial prescription I took part in various parties with such headliners as Submerged (USA), Future Prophecies (Norway), Aaron Spectre (USA), Evol Intent (USA), Limewax (Netherlands), Klute (UK), Mindscape (Hungary), not mentioning many Russian and Ukrainian representatives of the scene. With my sets I’ve traveled over a lot of cities from Lvov to Donetsk.
