NEW RECORDINGS FROM THE RALSTON CREEK BUNKER
Following the Great Flood of ’08, which led to the dismantling of the Ralston Creek Bunker, we here at ILLINOIS JOHN FEVER have working hard writing new songs, rewriting old ones, getting tattooed, and reconstituting our recording studio. That said we’re also happy to report that we’ve dusted off the 8-track and are recording tracks for a forthcoming release.
THE KID
Oh, and on that note: Dr. Hall and I noticed the spacious bunker was quieter with just the two of us. So we’ve gone and recruited the wicked KID LIGHTNING, our very own Eugene Martone. And the Kid’s so bad ass, he’ll cut heads with anybody including Jack Butler. Hoooooey! Thanks to the Kid we’ve never sounded this good. We mean it. And direct mailers please take note: we still don’t have anybody in the band named John Fever.
DEEP BLUES FESTIVAL: July 15-19, 2009
So come midsummer, we’re bringing our raw no-wattage mayhem to Minneapolis for the DEEP BLUES FESTIVAL, and we’ll be dragging along that new recording, our headcuttin Kid, and maybe even some teeshirts with our new corporate logo. Come down to the merch tent and see me, Lute Tucker, selling our wares and showing off my arm. DBF2009 features 70+ bands from 19 states and 5 countries, and the all-weekend pass costs something like a $1.40 per band.
