Hip Hop has inspired people worldwide to think as individuals and create freely. With the genre at a crossroads Southern California’s ILListic has used the music to release his inner thoughts and to relate to folks all over the world. The MC was first inspired from early west coast pioneer’s like Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and the late great Tupac Shakur. “I’m from the Los Angeles area, if you didn’t have The Chronic, Doggystyle, or All Eyez On Me something was wrong”. His musical tastes would expand to the south and east coast ranging from Outkast, Big L, Jay-Z, Nas and Mos Def just to name a few. ILListic would his sharpen his skills and began writing his own songs at the tender age 11. “I would really just take songs I heard and mimic them, but the more my life started to unfold the more I was able to paint my own canvas”. With his distinct voice and truthful lyrics ILListic is ready to release his independent solo album IN SEARCH OF…, a 2 year journey and reflection of a young man’s experiences and thoughts. “I Just want people to feel like they are not alone, we all go through a lot of the same issues and I want the listeners to know they are not alone in life’s struggles”. ILListic has also teamed with SO CAL producer DJ ILL2lectual to form the group ACID JACKSON the duo hopes they can break barriers with original music that makes a statement. ILListic hopes to be an artist for the people “Hopefully folks can relate and become inspired by my music, that’s all an artist can truly ask”.
