About me: The interlibrary loan department of Valdosta State University exists in order to borrow books and articles from other libraries that we don't have in our collection for the research needs of our students and faculty. We get things from all over the U.S. and occasionally from around the world, and 98% of the time it comes at no cost to you. What's more, articles are delivered to your computer within a few days, and books in less than a week. Most other libraries provide this service too, so go to your local library and try it out if you haven't. In these times when everything costs so much, it's nice to know there are still some good deals around.
But it's not a one way street. We also loan to other libraries as well. You can't expect to borrow from the neighbors without being willing to loan in return.
Who I'd like to meet: Our customers, who ask for the most interesting things. I often find things I want to read from among both our borrowing and lending requests. Also, a number of them have really neat life stories and interests to share.
It is a great day to be alive! What Question can I ask to empower myself and others? What new thought can I notice now to add to my creativity? How can I improve the experience of those I encounter today? What can I do to facilitate your Gift?
