Illuminate the Silence (Moscow, Russia) was founded in spring, 2007, based on the idea of mixing melodic doom/death with dark ambient. However, after the departure of the band's keyboard-player Kate, other founding members decided to change their style almost completely and cut off all the keyboard parts from their songs and, surely, re-arranged all the guitar parts. In summer, 2007, the line-up was joined by Prof (drums), who replaced the former drummer Anna, and Forlock (vocals, lyrics). Now the band's style can be described as progressive doom/death metal, some songs can be attributed even to alternative/post-rock. Illuminate the Silence played their first gig on 12 of October 2008 in Plan B club in Moscow. Now the band is focused on rehearsing some new songs for upcoming shows and still on recording the first EP. The video from the debute ItS show can be watched below.
