Ilona is singer-songwriter who makes music, sings and composes in many bands performing contemporary Finnish folk music. .. She has performed as a folk singer, actor and voice performer in several theatre groups, such as Voice Theatre Iki-Turso and the Finnish National Opera. In addition, she regularly performs as solo folk music vocalist, teaches folk music, and conducts Vantaa Chamber Choir. Lately she has been composing for choirs and her compositions has been performed, recorded and premiered by several Finnish choirs, such as Audite, Tritonuksen laulajat, Turku Conservatoire Chamber Choir and Jyväskylä Female Singers. She has performed and taught sor example in UK, Iceland, Ukraine, Japan, Hong Kong, Mozambique, and Egypt..... Ilona is specialised in Finnish epic stories dating thousands years back, in Rune singing and in polyphonic Fenno-Karelian tradition. She has graduated as Master of Music in the Department of Folk Music in the Sibelius Academy of Finland and nowadays she is studying for a degree of Doctor of Music.....
