*Let It Bleed (A Two-Week Feminist Festival in August 2007!)
The reason we're on MySpace at all is to get the women we know and love involved in Let It Bleed & our resource guide project. Here's the lowdown on both:
THE RESOURCE GUIDE: Basically, we're trying to build a resource guide for all of the amazing women we know. Being crazy-active women, we realized how daunting it can be to do it all yourself, and we have been longing for awhile to find a way to connect with other like-minded ladies. The idea behind the guide is that it will be a directory of fabulous women who were willing to share their knowledge, skills and resources with others in order to build a strong community of awesome ladies doing amazing things! Only women who participate in the project will get a copy of the resource guide when it's finished. Doesn't that sound great? You know you want to do it.
LET IT BLEED From AUGUST 11 thru AUGUST 28, we're turning Neighbors Gallery into a menstrual hut and taking over the neighborhood, turning it into a fantastic festival of femaleness! We're planning some big-ass fun, including potlucks, film fests, performance nights, dance parties, workshops, rap sessions (your choice: C.R. or hip hop style), hang-outs, crafting fantasmagorias, and other EXCITING SHIT, as yet to be named.
BUT!
We can't do it without all y'all!!! It takes peeps to make a party, and that's where you come in! We want Let It Bleed to be a crazy hoedown of female-made awesomeness, so if this blurb suddenly has you itching to participate, PLEASE contact us! If you want to coordinate an event, run a workshop, or volunteer your time or skills, by all means LET US KNOW!! This will be over two weeks of awesome events, all within a specially designed lady-space. Our goal is to be the only game in town for 2 weeks, so we are are planning to have chock-a-block events, none of this "well, there is already an event on Friday, so I guess we shouldn't really have something else on Saturday." NO! NOT TRUE!!! More time means more fabulousness!
