Alaska Music Alliance	Apr 17 2008 7:30 PM A lot has been going on with the Alaska Music Alliance over the last couple of weeks. Members have been preparing articles, information, art, and pictures for the first issue of the AKMA Zine. We have also been going though all the legal steps and paper work to officially make the AKMA a non-profit group to benefit all music around Alaska. Even though we are making amazing progress we are still in need of help. We need more people to help create fliers for the AKMA and local shows. If you are skilled at Photoshop, like to draw, or make collages this is your opportunity to shine. Your art will be seen by thousands of people. Message us if you are interested! We are working hard on the Zine, but need more help. Every one is welcome and can contribute. Message us if you would like to write for the Zine! We can help you find a subject if you don't have one. We need to keep spreading the word about the AKMA to more of Alaska. Top 8’s, bulletins, and word of mouth would all be extremely helpful and appreciated. If you have a friend that you think would be interested in one of our projects we would love to have their help. Remember to register. Just being our Myspace friend doesn’t make you an AKMA member. Alaska Music Alliance	Apr 1 2008 7:04 AM Sunday March 30th 2008 at 4:09 P.M. the Alaska Music alliance held our first Zine meeting. The AKMA Zine is being built from the ground up so we can give creative freedom to the writers, artists, and photographers involved. The Zine will be a better way for Alaskans to find out about music within Alaska. It will not focus on any specific genre and will be for all music around Alaska. If you want to work on the Zine or want to find out what you missed at the meeting click here! We need to get the AKMA idea out to more people around Alaska. Tell every one you know that’s passionate about music in Alaska to check out the Alaska Music Alliance. The AKMA is not just one or two people; it is anyone who loves music in Alaska that wants to help create a healthier more unified music scene. We are still gathering the information of recently registered members in our database; however a handful of you have yet to register. Alaska Music Alliance	Mar 24 2008 7:34 PM Thursday night, March 20, 2008, the Alaska Music Alliance Myspace was launched and was met by overwhelming support from musicians and music lovers alike. People from all over Alaska with different musical backgrounds and tastes have come together to create a new music scene within Alaska. It is with this unity that the AKMA will change the way Alaska views music. Some will say it can’t be done. Music and Alaska don’t work together. Maybe they will tell you we don’t have enough people for a music scene. We at AKMA know this is untrue. We will no longer sit and do nothing. Every great revolution has begun with the passion and unity of those with a common goal. The AKMA knows with the passion and aid of our AKMA members, we will no longer let Alaska lay silent. We will be heard. We will no longer be without a venue. We will always have a place to play. We will no longer have just a few genres take the spotlight. Music in Alaska will be abundant. We will no longer be split. We will unite under music. With the AKMA Alaskan music has hope. Together we can make a scene! The AKMA Also… The AKMA has just gotten up our to-do list.
