This page has been created to spread the word about "I *Lung* Running"--the one person marathon "team", raising money for St. Louis Children's Hospital. Help spread the word! Add me to your top friends!
My name is Cadence, and for 3 years, I was the dietitian for the lung transplant team at St. Louis Children's Hospital. I recently opted for a big career change and am now a medical student at Des Moines University.
Last April, I ran the St. Louis Marathon, along with several friends and family members, to raise money for the SLCH Lung Transplant Fund. We raised over $2000! Though I am no longer working at SLCH, I still want to keep this fundraising group alive! Given the time constraints of medical school, the races will likely be shorter and the time I'll have to spend on fundraising will be less. But every little bit helps! That's why this website is so important! Help us spread the word by adding this site to your top friends and sending others to the link!
My next race is going to be the Des Moines Half Marathon. I haven't worked out the logistics of the way donations will work, or what our goal will be, but stay tuned for more details! The race is in mid October.
This is the link to the old fundraising site. We are no longer using Active.com, as they keep a small portion of every donation, but there will be a way to donate online agian soon! Feel free to visit the old site to see all the donor names from the 2008 Go! St. Louis Marathon.
Who I'd like to meet: Anyone who loves to run, or wants to help transplant patients!! Or both!
I saw you at the Half today. I recognized your shirt they look good. Let me know how I can order one, and I'll wear it at the "master the met" fund raiser for the American Lung Association.
