Somehow writing poetry turned into writing lyrics for bands, which turned into writing lyrics for my own band, Obedient Waves, which I started with the gear-obsessing, guitar-shredding, drum-banging, singer-songwriter, Billy Gruber, in a little blue house on the east side of L.A.
