Since a young age, Ilyes enjoyed getting involved in his community. Whether it was with non-profit organizations such as Impact, volunteer at Hema-Quebec, Ilyes has done many efforts to better his community and to inspire other young people to get involved in useful projects.
In high school, Ilyes enjoyed devoting much of his time to his community through his role as Student Representative in various contests and conferences.
Concerning his hobbies and interests, Ilyes likes sciences, sports, poetry and literature.

In short, Ilyes tries to do his best in all the activities that interest him such as environmental projects, leadership programs, poetry ...
Ilyes firmly believes that youth must realize they are global citizens. Besides, he strongly believes that youth as a collective force have the ability to make great positive changes in our society and in the world and thus, to be the change they wish to see in the world.
Ilyes is also part of the Creating Local Connections team where he serves as the Quebec Virtual Engagement Coordinator.
CLC Canada is an integrated three-year program (2006-2009) with a goal of inspiring, informing, and involving youth as engaged participants in Canadian society through: awareness and access, collaboration and communication, and capacity building initiatives.
The goals of the CLC Canada program are:
• To raise awareness and provide access to youth opportunities and resources
• To connect and encourage collaboration between youth/youth initiatives
• To strengthen the capacity of youth/youth initiatives in Canada
