Back in late 1999 an aspiring actor/screenwriter (but aren't we all) met with a young college filmmaker at a small caf in Providence, Rhode Island. The meeting was to discuss a possible collaboration on a fashion show, later dubbed Glitz & Glamour, intended to raise money for independent film ventures. The pair set out to do something more innovating than just the traditional attractive models walking up and down a runway. They wanted it to be and actual event, something that would be viewed as entertainment.
The production would end up being a circus of singers, dancers, a live jazz ensemble, a catered gourmet buffet and a five man film crew to document the event. With thousands of dollars of their own meager savings (and credit cards) they invested in the production and advertisement, expecting a huge turn out. Unfortunately, the turn out for their show wasn't quite what they hoped. This was a financial set back to their plans.
However, some prominent businessmen from RI & MA happened to attend the show and were duly impressed by the small production, as a result this would lead to more elaborate productions leading into the film industry and network TV.
As the years passed their talent pool and entertainment network grew, furthering their experience and contacts. Image Icon Entertainment (IIE) primarily focuses on actors, filmmakers and media services. Developing their own film and network TV productions, IIE has begun production of several film, web and media projects in the greater New England area (which can be reviewed in the project section of the web site). Their goal is to bring more of the Hollywood Glitz & Glamour right here in New England, making the film industry just a little more accessible.
